Pecan oil is a rare and valuable product in which the concentration of useful nutrients is very high, more than in the walnuts themselves. The oil contains up to 15% protein, the same amount of carbohydrates and about 70% fatty acids. Vitamins E, A, B, folic acid, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, zinc and potassium make the product extremely valuable for the skin.
It also contains unsaturated fatty acids (2% Omega-3, 42% Omega-6, 47% Omega-9) and saturated fatty acids (7% palmitic and 2% stearic).

Useful and healing properties

As already mentioned, pecan oil is applied internally and externally. It helps excellent in headaches, in the treatment of colds, to strengthen the heart and blood vessels. When used externally, it reduces hematomas, eliminates irritation, copes with sunburn, insect bites and various fungal and bacterial infections.

It is believed that the product has a good effect on the health of the elderly, also protects against the effects of carcinogens. It is often used in varicose veins, to increase immunity and renew cells.

The oil is recommended for the care of dry and mature skin, often used as a massage.

Use in cosmetics

For cosmetic purposes, the fat obtained from pecans is used to soften, moisturize, tone and nourish the skin. The product is characterized by excellent rejuvenating and regenerating effects, and the thin protective film it forms after application on the skin protects it from the effects of harmful environmental factors.
The oil enhances the skin's ability to recover from sunburn, irritation, acne, insect bites; with its help small cracks heal, fight fungal infections.
The product is also useful for nails - it helps reduce brittleness, restores strength and improves their appearance.

Use in cooking

Pecan oil in cooking is mainly used to flavor various dishes of rice, polenta, mushrooms and salads. It goes well with fish, including trout. It is also served in combination with balsamic vinegar and cheese. In addition, the product gives a nutty flavor to homemade pastries.

Of course, fat is high in calories, so you should not overdo it.
