Garden plums (junk) are widespread in Bulgaria. They are not only very tasty, but also very useful. They contain a number of vitamins and minerals, are easily absorbed and have a wide application.

The color of the plum is determined by its composition - the yellow fruit has a lot of sugar, citric acid and almost no tannins; and black is rich in pectin.
Plum is a good dietary remedy. It is useful both in dried form and in the form of compotes, jellies, juices, jams.
The juice quenches thirst, tones and refreshes. It is suitable for avitaminosis, acute respiratory diseases, stomach diseases and as a mild laxative. It acts as an antiviral agent due to its high content of fiber and pectin, which contribute to the removal of radionuclides from the body.
The high content of potassium makes it useful in heart problems - this mineral prevents arrhythmia and strengthens the heart muscle.
Plum fruits contain little sugar, so they can be consumed by people suffering from diabetes. The dried meat part retains its taste and dietary qualities for a long time.
Plum acts on the nervous system and has a calming and relaxing effect. If you suffer from high blood pressure you can consume 200 grams of fruit and within an hour the condition should return to normal.
Vitamins A and C are strong antioxidants, they slow down the aging process and protect the body from external factors, improve the condition of the skin.
Plum teas improve digestion and increase appetite.
As plums contain a large amount of organic acids, they are not recommended for people suffering from gastritis with increased acidity of gastric juice, also for ulcers of the stomach and duodenum.
Oil is prepared from plum stones, which, in composition, resembles almond and contains the glycoside, amygdalin, hydrocyanic acid, and benzoic baldaquin. The oil is used in cosmetics and in the production of medical soap.
