Atrophy is the gradual reduction in the size and volume of tissues or organs until the complete cessation of their functions over time, if the necessary measures are not taken and adequate

Atrophy is the gradual reduction in the size and volume of tissues or organs until the complete cessation of their functions over time, if the necessary measures are not taken and adequate treatment of the problem is not applied.

Causes of atrophy:

  • genetic predisposition to premature aging;
  • poor physiological development;
  • poor blood supply;
  • metabolic problems;
  • starvation;
  • intake of insufficient amount of vitamins and minerals necessary for normal physical activity;
  • impaired metabolism;
  • and other.

Useful foods for atrophy

To maintain and strengthen the tissues and cells of the body, it is necessary to include in the menu alkalizing foods, products containing proteins and vitamins A, D, B6 and B12 . The patient should consume:

  • dairy products: milk (freshly uncooked and unpasteurized only), various types of cream, cottage cheese, butter, Dutch cheese, processed cheese;
  • eggs (preferably hens);
  • fish and seafood (sea bass, mackerel, sardines, tuna);
  • beef and pork, chicken, crab, octopus, lamb, rabbit, liver;
  • seeds and nuts (walnuts, hazelnuts, pine nuts, flaxseed);
  • vegetables : sweet peppers, broccoli, white cabbage, tomatoes, pumpkin, carrots, lettuce, beets, cucumbers (fresh only);
  • porridges boiled in water: oat, millet, buckwheat, rice, couscous, barley;
  • legumes and cereals;
  • mushrooms;
  • large quantities of fresh fruits, vegetables and berries, apples, viburnum fruits, bananas, strawberries, peaches, oranges, grapes, melons, cranberries, papaya, apricots, lemons, blackcurrants, avocados;
  • herbs and spices: horseradish, garlic, onion, celery;
  • leafy vegetables: parsley, spinach .

Dangerous and harmful foods in atrophy:

  • marinades, smoked products and canned food;
  • alcoholic and carbonated beverages;
  • large amounts of cereals and too many meat dishes (increase the acidity, which adversely affects the condition of muscles, tissues and skin);
  • semi-finished and fast food;

All these foods destroy cells and tissues in the body.

It is necessary for the patient to give up smoking and other harmful habits.
